Cousins

Z and V love their cousins. They are friends they will grow old with.

My little escape artist

The big explore

How wonderful it is to be a child!

When weeds are beautiful flowers and a rotting stick is home to a city of ants. When you dream of running away from home to explore the world...but come home for dinner.

I pray my kids look back on their childhood and cherish these days.

The hired help

Oh how I am missing Ben. This is turning out to be the longest 18 days of my life. I am however so grateful for the tiny friends he has left behind to keep me company.
I asked the kids to set the table while I finished dishing out our dinner last night and this is what they did. I couldn't help but let dinner go cold while I captured my busy little bees being ever so 'helpful'.

Meet Hosea

What better day to post about this sweet little Boy than fathers day. I caught up with Luke and Sarah a few days ago to capture this new little life. Today he is 8 days old. I hope you've had a wonderful first fathers day Luke.

underwater pregnancy shoot

There is something about the pregnant form under water...Sarah makes being pregnant look so effortless and elegant...in and out of water. I've also never met a woman in her eighth month of pregnancy that is as fit as Sarah. We literally tread water for about 2 hours and it didn't fase her at all...me on the other hand, even with flippers on, I was exhausted!

I am so thrilled for Luke and Sarah and can't wait to meet this new little life in a few short weeks.

Sweet baby girl

Ahh babies!!...I just love to photograph the freshness of a newborn. Little baby A came in for her photo shoot at just over a week old and was such a sleepy little thing. It's little ones like this that make me (almost) clucky again.

Tim and Mon are getting married...

My friends Tim and Mon are getting married in November. I can't wait to capture the love on their special day.

The adventures of Harrisson

Back at the beginning of July, I had this very special shoot with Harry and his mum and dad. After months of planning, waiting for bad hair cuts to grow out, bad weather, general winter sicknesses, we finally made it up to Gardner's Falls to capture this little boy in all his boyish goodness. I've often heard that 2 year olds are the hardest to photograph because they are stretching their independent legs...so with this little bit of knowledge under our caps, we simply let the Independence stretch away. This is my favourite way to shoot, we chose the one location to shoot at, scattered a few props (to go with our adventure theme) around the location and just shot whatever happened. It was so much fun to watch harry discover his surroundings with no pressure at all to perform. I love the interaction he had with his mum and dad too...a very special little family indeed.

The arrival of baby Joshua

I love seeing past clients come back as their beautiful families expand. I photographed little Jayden when he was first born almost 2 years ago and I was delighted to hear that Kahly and Dave were pregnant again and wanted me to capture this next chapter in their story.

For their maternity session this time, we agreed to go outdoors and met up at beautiful Point Perry in Coolum.

Welcome little baby Joshua. This little guy was so delightful.

Thank you Kahly, Dave, Jayden and Joshua. It was so great to see you all again. I'm looking forward to designing your coffee table style album.

Little Cove family

This is what I call a perfect photoshoot! Great weather, happy family, energetic little one year old, doteing big brother. Talk about a super chilled out Sunday evening session. Thank you family.

About Me

My photo
I have been fascinated with the art of photography for as long as I can remember...I have dabbled in it for years but my 'obsession' didn't really take hold until the birth of my son, Zavia. I was so upset by the lack of good photos we had from his first few weeks of life that it has become my challenge ever since to take as many beautiful images of him as possible. I realised how important it was to capture all of those little moments that shoot past so quickly...and why stop at photographing Zavia when I obviously have a (I hate to use this word...but...) passion for photographing children and families. That's how 'Sprout Photography' was born. You can check out my website at Sproutphotography.com.au
